The Arlington Aquatic Club offers training and practice groups for swimmers of all ages and ability levels. It is the goal of the Arlington Aquatic Club to offer age specific training for all of our athletes geared towards challenging each individual and developing each individual to the best of their abilities.

Pre-Competition Groups

Registration Fee: All swimmers must pay an annual, non-refundable / non-transferable Registration Fee of $135. The Registration fee is NOT part of the program free.  The Registration fee includes a USA swimming membership, an AAC t-shirt, and an AAC cap.  For all Pre-Competition groups, Meet fees are NOT included in the Registration Fee and the Family Discount does NOT apply.

Mini Gator
Ages 6-8
Washington-Lee Swimming Pool

This is our most basic skills training program.  The program is designed to introduce young swimmers to the sport of competitive swimming and offers the skills necessary to begin to learn all four competitive swim strokes.  All swimmers in this program must be able to swim one full length of the pool (25 yards) without stopping. This program will focus on improving the freestyle and backstroke skills and begin the introduction to breastroke and butterfly swim strokes.

Gator I

Our beginner level swim program, Gator I is designed for younger swimmers interested in staying competitive and improving upon their swimming skills during the winter months.  Swimmers must have a strong freestyle and backstroke to be able to join this group and possess a basic understanding of breaststroke and butterfly . 
The first session of this program focuses on skills training in freestyle and backstroke including starts and turns. 
The second session continues skills training in freestyle and backstroke, but will focus on stroke developement for breastroke and butterfly including starts and turns.

Gator II

This is our second level of our Gator program.  Swimmers in this group must have a strong freestyle and backstroke and a proficient breaststroke and butterfly.  This program is broken up into two sessions. 
Session 1 will cover the long-axis strokes, freestyle and backstroke including instruction on proper starts and turns. 
Session 2 will cover the short axis strokes, breastroke and butterfly including instruction on proper starts and turns.

Our third level swim program, Gators III is designed to offer intermediate skills training to swimmers interested in staying competitive and improving their swimming skills during the winter months.  Swimmers must be able to swim all four competitive strokes legally.  The program includes work on proper stroke technique for all four strokes and improving starts and turns.

This program is our first level of training for swimmers interested in staying in shape for their junior/senior high school and/or summer seasons but are committed to other sports and/or activities.  The group practices twice a week and will focus on stroke development, building strength and speed in the water, improving starts and turns, as well as moderate training sessions to help keep the swimmers in shape

This program is our second level of training for swimmers that would like to stay in shape for their High School and summer league seasons but have commitments to other competitive sports or activities throughout the year.  The program consists of three practices per week, focusing on reinforcement of competitive stroke technique, development of advanced race strategy and training theory, as well as work on speed in the water and increasing swimming endurance

Our entry-level competitive swim program, this group is designed for young swimmers with limited competitive experience.  Swimmers must be legal in all four competitive strokes in order to join.  The program emphasizes basic stroke development for the four competitive strokes, instruction on proper competitive starts and turns, and an introduction to basic training principles.  It is the expectation that swimmers in this group will advance into our Age Group Program, if they qualify.

·          and preparation for Senior Group advancement.

·          development of advanced race strategy and training theory;

·          and competition in Championship-Level Regional, Zone and National meets
